this is a quick overview of the printing process that i developed here at my studio. i hot-cycle machine wash and dry everything before construction or print application. this allows the materials to morph into their final stages and prepares their fibers for maximum print absorption. fabric, leather, trim, binding, lining, zippers… evvvverything is pre-washed. once the product is constructed and printed on, i wash it once more for quality control and to detect any possible shrinking or fading.

i cut my printing designs mostly from vinyl or foam and attach them to sturdy wooden planks on which i walk for every single print application to assure a deep penetrating print. because my specially formulated paint is quick drying, planks clog rapidly and only last for a number of applications. once they are too clogged for printing, i strip them down and apply a new design.
